The Discovery
Hahnemann conceived the concept of homeopathy while translating a medical treatise by a Scottish Physician & Chemist William Cullen into German.
Being skeptical of Cullen’s theory concerning Cincohona’s action in Malaria.
Hahnemann consumed some amount of the Cincohona’s Bark to see whether it cures Malarial fever.
On the contrary, it produced the symptoms of Malaria. He realized that Cincohona’s bark is capable of producing the disease it cures.
This theory was confirmed through repeated clinical trials and he concluded that “the medicines that are capable of curing the disease may also cause the same disease.”
